Humble Beginnings

Coming into existence in the capital city of Michigan, Chosen was conceived in 2008 by an aspiring designer, and a web developer. In the midst of adversity, and a struggling economic structure, our small group took root in the heart of Lansing. We didn’t have a plan or experience in business development, but we focused on advertising and promotions working with non-profit companies and networking with other businesses. Projects like the waggin’ trail, the Chosen Cup and Mixtapes were among our first and helped us refine where our business would go.

After a few months of serving the community and networking, we set out full force as a web design and development agency (the original websites have since been turned into blogs) working with local businesses and agencies. Shane and Clay quit their jobs and went full time by late 2008. Things were rocky for us at first, but when we found ourselves at the front-door of Mount Hope Church we had no idea that the flood gates were about to be opened.. We were commissioned for a project to build a blog and e-commerce site for Club 52. This project lead us further down a path of mastering e-commerce and wordpress development, as well as internet and business consulting.

At the beginning of 2009 we decided to separate our pod into smaller, more manageable seeds. Each seed functioning as a single focus and investment in the overall crop. We’ve taken care of our seed in Web Design and Web Development, and helped it to grow into the sapling it is currently. We’re still young, we’re still new, but we’re growing fast and though the economy may fade and burn, we still have our foundation. With a strong faith in God, and each other, we have cleared the way, for blue skies and a bright future.

Today Chosen is a virtual company with employees spanning across both coasts. We’re still growing as an agency and focusing on cutting-edge development and quickly becoming the leaders in e-commerce development.
